  Website contains a great deal of information regarding parasites (internal and external) that affect our pets.  It also goes into detail about the parasites that are zoonotic, or, in other words, those parasites which can be transmitted from our pets to us.

  This is a good site to explore when you are looking for a new 4-legged addition to your family.  Petfinder lists pets available for adoption from most of the area shelters and rescue organizations.

• American Kennel Club

  Contains specific information about all dog breeds recognized by the AKC and has a tool you can use to help choose an appropriate breed for your family.

• American Heartworm Society

  Contains current heartworm treatment and prevention recommendations as well as incidence maps to illustrate how common the disease is in certain locations.

  Purdue University has several veterinary speciallists on staff.  We occasionally refer difficult or involved cases  to the hospital at Purdue and often consult with the doctors on staff there.  This website contains information on services they offer, maps to help you get to the hospital, and even information for those thinking about getting into the veterinary profession.
